Mister Master, Maszer, and the Wild Lips
June 17, 2016 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Mister Master: They are four guys out of the Pacific Northwest who love to perform, play loud, and who have a great time on stage. After getting together in 2011, they have been writing and arranging our own material, which eventually helped them find their own grungy blue psychedelic groove.
Maszer has a hard, tribal sound that pounds through a room, enrapturing everyone it touched. Maszer’s sound is highly reliant on multiple layers of percussion, with up to three band members drumming in various ways. You may even see them use a bucket! Katie Blackstock’s vocals are sultry, and the band puts on an almost psychedelic groove. They are a very unique band.
The Wild Lips are a high energy, ready-to-attack, mob of music vandals currently performing around the Seattle area. Combining unexpected elements of punk and folk into riotous rock and roll, the current duo has a talent for putting every last shred of energy and emotion into both recordings and live performances. Vocalist Billy Barros has been described by media as having a “no apologies style” and producing “sweatdrenched sing-along songs” [The Stranger]; any number of which could be your favorite. Their music reflects an experienced sort of angst and admiration for the battered soul… a genuine celebration of heartache.
